Fewo Maierhöfen is peacefully located in the West Allgäu and is an ideal base for mountain adventures, days on the slopes and relaxing trips to explore the surrounding area.
Getting Here
The easiest way to reach the apartment is by car. For most guests, the most straightforward route is via the A96 towards Wangen, followed by regional roads to Maierhoefen.
- By car: Allow a little extra time for the final stretch along smaller Allgäu roads, especially during holiday weekends.
- By train: Larger railway connections are available in the surrounding region, for example in Röthenbach (Allgäu), Wangen im Allgäu, Oberstaufen or Munich. From there, a taxi or rental car is recommended for the final leg of the journey.
- In winter: Make sure your car is equipped with winter tyres and check the latest weather conditions before travelling. Snow chains can be useful.

Eistobel
An impressive gorge with waterfalls, offering a spectacular natural experience in both summer and winter.
Skulpturenweg Maierhöfen
The approximately 5 km hike is relatively easy and can be started directly from the holiday apartment.
Seppi's Brauhaus
Authentic Allgäu cuisine at affordable prices. The Swabian-style onion roast beef is especially worth trying.
Alpe Wenger Egg
Regional products, cheese, cured meats, fresh bread and drinks. Perfect for refuelling after a rewarding hike.
Neuschwanstein Castle
This famous landmark is within easy reach and offers fantastic photo opportunities both inside and out.
Lake Constance
The 63 km-long lake can be reached in around 40 minutes by car and offers a wide range of activities, including boat and ferry trips, mini golf and the Zeppelin Museum.
Alpsee Coaster
The toboggan run is an adrenaline-filled experience. A visit can easily be combined with a hike or a ride on the chairlift. The climbing park and the Bärenfalle mountain hut, serving delicious Allgäu specialities, are also well worth a visit and are located near the mountain station.
Ski Resorts
The natural-snow ski area in Riedholz is located nearby in the municipality of Maierhöfen and offers two lifts. Larger ski resorts are also within easy reach, including those in Oberstaufen and Oberstdorf.
